Asia Pulse: CHINA'S CNOOC PREPARES FOR OIL REFINERY PROJECT (ShellNews.net)

BEIJING, Sept 14 Asia Pulse - China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) has begun to prepare for the 12 million-ton Nanhai oil refinery project at Daya Bay in Huizhou, Guangdong Province.

Construction of the project is expected to start in 2005 and be completed for production in 2008, the company said.

After the project starts production, it will be able to meet the raw material demand of the 800,000-ton ethylene project being built jointly by CNOOC and Shell.
