A Channel 4 programme last Saturday, The End of the World as We Know It, featured an interview with the outgoing Shell chairman Lord Oxburgh. After the cameras stopped rolling interviewer Marcel Theroux (son of Paul, brother of Louis) asked Oxburgh's minder when he was due to retire. "Not soon enough" came the reply, or so I am told. I call Shell for confirmation: "We are talking with the production company about this comment," a spokesman blocks. Shouldn't they be talking to the minder?
