Dear Mr Wiseman

I attach for your information and file a copy of a self-explanatory letter faxed today to Mr van der Veer. It is also being faxed to all directors of Shell Transport and the Royal Dutch Board with circulation being completed tomorrow, 22 April.

In view of the information provided therein can you please advise whether you still continue to deny any connection between the Royal Dutch Shell Group and Mr ******* *****? Did he supply information used by Shell? The latest information about Mr ****** comes courtesy of a confidential source. I have verified that the information is correct.

The same source has confirmed that Shell circulated information about the Smart litigation to Shell employees and third parties after the conclusion of the trial. Can you please investigate and retain all relevant documents in case they are needed in respect of further litigation?

Can you kindly pass on copies of this letter and the attachments to Mr Joseph.
