An Bord Pleanala has upheld Mayo County Council's decision earlier this year to grant planning permission for the proposed gas terminal at Bellanaboy Bridge, County Mayo.
The terminal is to be built to bring gas from Shell's Corrib field ashore. Shell E&P Ireland said it was 'delighted' by the decision.
'We will now review the full report and associated conditions from An Bord Pleanála and assess what it may mean for the current plans for Corrib as a new integrated gas project,' said managing director Andy Pyle.
