LONDON (AFX) - Wood Group Production Technology, a unit of John Wood Group PLC, has won a 10 mln usd contract to supply Shell with permanent downhole sensors for its subsea well installations in the Gulf of Mexico.

The general manager of the John Wood unit, David Blacklaw said: 'Reliability (NASDAQ: REAL - news) of downhole equipment is critical for efficient, and profitable, field operations, particularly in deepwater, and WGPT's permanent downhole sensors have enabled our clients to accumulate data vital for reservoir analysis and production optimization.'
