NEW YORK Shell Group said it has revised the timetable for final presentations and a decision in the review for its $240 million global media account.
Final presentations are now set for April 19-20 and will be made in Houston, with a winner to be named in mid-May, the client confirmed Monday.
That pushes back the process by about three weeks later than Shell had initially anticipated. According to the original RFP, final presentations had been set for early April, with a decision expected by April 19.
The finalists competing for the account are Interpublic Group's Initiative, and a team comprised of WPP's MediaCom and Maxus agencies. All three already work on the account.
Aegis Group's Carat and Publicis Groupe's Starcom MediaVest, also roster shops, were eliminated last month.
The client also confirmed that two consultants are advising it during the review: Media Audits of London and Roth Associates of New York.
For the first time, Shell is consolidating its global media account under one service provider. The new contract is scheduled to begin July 1.
