A US affiliate of Royal Dutch/Shell, Shell Trading US Co, has denied a report that it had dismissed a senior fuel oil trader and transferred several others because of improper trading activities.

Houston fuel oil traders confirmed that at least one senior Shell trader had left the company and at least two others were transferred to London, but the reasons for the moves were not clear.
