PERTH -- Woodside Petroleum Ltd. (WPL.AU) chief executive Don Voelte said Monday that he isn't aware of Shell 's plans for its 34% stake in the company, which operates the multibillion dollar North West Shelf liquefied natural gas project off the coast of Western Australia.
"There is nothing that I know," Voelte said when asked about Shell's plans for its Woodside investment.
Recent media speculation, sparked by a report from investment bank UBS, has focussed on the possibility of Royal Dutch/Shell Group (RD) revisiting its A$10 billion-plus bid for Woodside which Canberra rejected in 2001 as being against the national interest.
