SHELL has discovered more gas off the northeast coast of Peninsular Malaysia with the Bumi South well and is considering a multi-field development.

CS Mutiara Petroleum, a Shell joint venture with state oil firm Petronas Carigali, made its fourth gas discovery in block PM301 following recent success on the Bunga Kamelia, Bunga Zetung and Bunga Anggerik exploration wells.

Shell has started technical studies to assess development options for this cluster of gas discoveries.

It is set to continue this exploration and appraisal drilling programme to find new gas resources in the block and expand on its development plans.
