*EMAIL FROM DISGRUNTLED FORMER SHELL EMPLOYEE JOSEPH MURIUKI TO SHELL KENYA COUNTRY CHAIRMAN, ENG. PATRICK OBATH: HEARTIEST & WARMEST CONGRATULATIONS… Posted Monday 20 June 2005
Dear Eng. P.E.O.Obath,
I am writing to congratulate you Eng. Patrick E.O Obath on your appointment as Shell Kenya Country Chairman and wish you every success in your job.
Regarding my dispute with Shell Chemicals E.A.Ltd, I request you to act just as you would if Shell belonged to you as the sole proprietor, or as a court of appeal judge by bringing together both accuser and accused before you. This has never been done by your predecessors.
It's only WA/43 (Area co-ordination Eastern and Southern Africa) from Shell Centre London who once called me at Shell & BP House Nairobi for a meeting to clarify that London office had no problem with my reinstatement/compensation, it's only that the Group policy on resolving such a dispute is the responsibility of General Manager (GM) of the affiliate Shell Company.
He emphasised that my case is very good for appraisal of GM's performance and would be used to sack GM if he would not change his mind and resolve it.
Unfortunately later, the then GM of Shell Developments Kenya Limited, Mr Neville Craig (the first GM to protect Shell looters) disclosed to me his motive of not resolving the case. He said, since my case had engineered his sacking, he would 'mess up' that case to ensure his successors would unsuspectly adopt that mess, then fall in the same trap and be sacked like him as well. Honestly, that is being envious.
Surely, sacking Shell Kenya Management officials without resolving my case does not help me and yet the case is as simple as ABCD. May the Almighty God grant you wisdom like the one he gave King Solomon, to resolve this dispute amicably through my reinstatement/compensation for both parties to enjoy peace.
I remain hoping to hearing from you soon.
Yours faithfully,
J.M.Kithinji (Joseph Muriuki)
