Hunting, the energy services group, increased its profit forecast for the year as demand for its work rose amid soaring oil prices. Analysts had expected pre-tax profits of £27 million, against last year’s £25.2 million.
Warren Buffett, the billionaire American investor, reportedly feels that oil prices have peaked and is considering selling his shares in PetroChina, China’s largest oil company.
Antofagasta, the miner, said that Andrónico Luksic, its majority owner, has died.
