AN application by environmentalist Peter Sweetman for an order to stop works on a proposed terminus for the Shell gasfield on the Mayo coast was adjourned in the High Court yesterday until April 4.
Mr Sweetman was given leave earlier this month to seek orders against Shell E & P and Lennon Quarries Ltd, requiring them to stop works at Bellynagelly South, Ballinaboy Bridge. It is claimed that the development is proceeding in breach of conditions of the planning permission.
Yesterday, Mr Justice John Quirke said he wanted all affidavits in the case to be in by April 4 next and he would have a hearing as soon as possible after that.
