The Royal Dutch/Shell Group of Companies today announced the appointment of Graeme Sweeney as CEO of Shell Renewables and President Shell Hydrogen. Graeme will succeed Karen de Segundo who will retire as planned on 31st March 2005.
Graeme Sweeney has been with Shell for 28 years and prior to this appointment was VP Manufacturing, Supply and Distribution for the Downstream business in Europe. He has previously held other positions in the Downstream including President Shell Global Solutions in the USA, VP Oil Markets Technology for Global Solutions, Vice President of Fuels for Shell International, and Manager of the Downstream business in Turkey and in Egypt.
Karen de Segundo has been in her current position for the past five years. During 34 years of Group service her previous roles include CEO of Gas & Power, leadership of the Group's External Affairs department, and VP for Oil Products in Shell Brazil.
